Boys Basketball: Terrace vs. Hazen @ Marysville-Pilchuck Friday

For those of you who don’t know, WIAA high school basketball state tournaments are starting a new format in 2011. Instead of a four-day, 16-team tournament, there will be three-day, eight-team tournaments preceded the previous weekend by regional-site games. The format change is a cost-savings measure for the WIAA as attendance at the state tournaments has been decreasing for several years. More on the format change here.

This year’s boys 3A regional site games will be played at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, Bellevue College, Auburn High School and Spokane Valley Community College.

The Hawk’s play their first regional site game against Hazen High School (Renton School District) at Marysville-Pilchuck High School at 5:45pm on Friday, February 25.

If they win their first game, the Hawks will play again on Saturday at 3pm at Marysville-Pilchuck.
