Junior Bailey Sonko has been named the latest Mountlake Terrace Hawks’ Athlete of the Week by Hawks’ girls soccer Coach Alvin Little and the MTHS Athletic Department.
“Bailey’s transition from sophomore year to junior year has been simply amazing,” Little said. “Bailey is my rock on defense: tenacious, physical, strong on the ball, vocal, smart; everything a coach loves in a center back.”
Little also noted Sonko’s personal character traits for her success. “Bailey has become a great teammate … and she sets the tone by always working hard and keeping a positive attitude, even in challenging matches,” he said.
Little concluded by looking ahead a year in Sonko’s high school soccer career. “I’m excited to see what’s in story for Bailey as a senior,” he said. “I can see Bailey holding a leadership position and taking the Lady Hawks to another level.”
The MTHS Athletic Departments and Hawks coaches select an Athlete of the Week to highlight student athletes in their athletic, academic and personal growth at Mountlake Terrace High School.
