After receiving numerous donations from local businesses and community members, volunteers assembled 175 backpacks filled with school supplies.

The annual “Backpacks for Little Hawks” program was led by the Mountlake Terrace Business Association (MLTBA). The backpacks will be handed out to students in need primarily at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School, but extras are said to be given to the other Mountlake Terrace elementary schools.

At the backpack filling, Mountlake Terrace Elementary Principal Doug Johnson expressed his gratitude for the program and for the work of the MLTBA.
