Brookview Church is hosting “The Amazing Race Brier” on Saturday, Nov. 5, an event that will take teams of two to five people to locations around Brier to complete various challenges and earn raffle tickets. Teams will begin at Brookview Church then head out to six spots in town. Teams will be awarded tickets if they complete the challenge offered at the various location, then gather at Big E Ales in Lynnwood following the event for awards and a raffle drawing.
Jen Huguenin, staff member and wife of Brookview Church Pastor Jason Huguenin, explained that the event not only will be a fun activity for the community to participate in, but will give the church a chance to stand out in the city.
“It is absolutely our heart and prayer that the event will glorify Christ and share his love,” Jen Huguenin said. “It is our prayer this year that we would not just be a church on the corner that people drive by, but that life would be happening there in such a way that those who don’t yet know Jesus would be compelled to take a look.”
Proceeds from the event will be used to help families in the church and in the community that may be facing unexpected hardships or challenges, Huguenin said.
A few teams have already registered for the race event. Huguenin is hopeful that more participants will come join the fun.
“I’m crossing my fingers for a rush (of registrations) at the end,” she said.
Cost for The Amazing Race Brier is $35 per adult and $10 per child (the event is open for anyone ages five and older). A vehicle will be necessary to get from one challenge site to another, but drive times will not be factored into team times.
Registration for the event is open until midnight on Thursday, Oct. 27. Participants can register at https://www.amazingracebrier.com/register.
