Sue Vansenus, paraeducator and campus security monitor at Mountlake Terrace High School, is February’s rotary educator of the month for her diligence in helping keep the campus safe and making sure that all students are accountable.
Sue runs the Hawk Study Club, an after-school gathering in the library. She monitors attendance and keeps track of what students are working on, which she shares with their teachers. This year, the club meets daily due to demand from students. Sue has done a remarkable job with the academic interventions she works on and her work has led to a decrease in the number of freshmen who have failed classes this year.
Sue is AMAZING! She does so much for the students at MTHS. She truly cares about them and is “mom” to many kids who need her guidance, encouragement, and support.
People have no idea how much she does and what kind of impact she has. She goes the extra mile and is a huge asset to MTHS. We are lucky to have her!
