Berries have arrived at the Mountlake Terrace Farmers’ Market!
Hayton Farms of Skagit County joined the other vendors of the farmers’ market on Friday, June 15, for the first time this season, selling organic strawberries in pints and flats to excited customers.
A cooler-than-usual spring delayed the strawberry harvest at Hayton Farms a couple of weeks, according to vendor attendant Marissa LeDuc. “We were able to start selling at farmers’ markets last Saturday,” LeDuc said.
Hayton Farms is expected to be a mainstay of the Mountlake Terrace Farmers’ Market well into August, selling their organic strawberries now, then adding organic raspberries in two weeks, and organic blackberries and blueberries in mid-July.
The Mountlake Terrace Farmers’ Market sets up on Fridays, 1:30-6:30 p.m., on the 23200 block of 56th Avenue West. The market continues through September.
