I-5 paving work scheduled to continue this week, weather permitting

I-5 signAlthough weather may be a factor in completing the work, crews hope to be paving the on and off ramps of Interstate 5 and State Route 104/Ballinger Way/244th Street this week. The work is scheduled for 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly; as ramp surfacing is being done, the ramp will be closed to all traffic.

If crews complete the ramp pavings, they will move to final striping work of southbound I-5 from 52nd Avenue West in Lynnwood to across the King-Snohomish County line and approximately Northeast 195th Street. Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 could be closed for the striping work, scheduled for 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is advising drivers to heed all detour signs and drive carefully through construction zones.
