33rd Annual Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show September 24-October 2

The 33rd Annual Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show is set for Saturday, September 24 through Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Avenue West. Sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and the Friends of the Arts, Arts of the Terrace is one of the major juried art shows held in the Pacific Northwest and attracts top artists from throughout the region.

This year over 70 artists submitted over 240 entries to compete for more than $3,000 in cash awards and art merchandise. Jurors include Jane Mayer for Paintings, Prints, Drawings and Miniatures, Sam Ruljancich for photography, and Bruce Amstutz for 3-Dimensional works.

The show is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday, 12 noon to 8 pm, Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, September 25, 11 to 5 pm and Sunday, October 2, 1 to 3 pm.

Artist demonstrations scheduled for the weekends include: Saturday, September 24, Bonnie Hodges, 11 to 12 Oil Painting; Cathy Shiovitz, 1 to 2 pm Calligraphy; Alexandra Knight, 3 to 4 pm Photography. Sunday, September 25 demonstrations include: Wendy Lee Lynds, 11:30 to 1 pm Mixed Media/Collage; Briana Knight, 2 to 3:30 pm Mixed Media/Fibers/Book making demonstration. Saturday, October 1 demonstrations include April Richardson, 10 to 11 am Print Making; Brigitte Hefferan, 12 to 1 Calligraphy; April Richardson, 2 to 3 pm Print Making; Clifford Burkey, 3:30 to 5 pm Watercolors.

On Saturday, October 1, a Silent Auction will be held from 6 to 9 pm with proceeds going to the Manu Sood Scholarship program.
