2015 Commencement: Hats off to Edmonds-Woodway High School, with MTV star as surprise speaker

Editor’s note: Commencement week is upon us. Since many people know students graduating at all of the Edmonds School District high schools, we will be sharing photos from all of the ceremonies. Enjoy!

Edmonds-Woodway High School alumnus Brett Davern, who stars on MTV’s “Awkward,” was the surprise guest speaker for the EWHS Class of 2015 graduation ceremony Friday night at Edmonds Stadium.

Davern, who was active in the EWHS drama program prior to graduating in 2001, provided a moving tribute to one of his mentors, Edmonds-Woodway drama teacher Bruce Mindt, and also posed for numerous photos with graduating seniors both before and after the ceremony.
