The 1st Marine Division Band to perform at Tour de Terrace

Just added to the Tour de Terrace schedule is the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton in California. The band, which was organized during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations in the early 1940’s, will be in the Tour de Terrace on Friday night. Additionally, the Tour de Terrace festival hours will be extended on Sunday for a special performance by the band at 6pm.

The Ceremonial Band is the cornerstone of the 1st Marine Division Band. It combines precision drill movements with inspiring music to showcase our proud military heritage. No Marine Corps ceremony would be complete without this traditional musical element. The First Marine Division Ceremonial Band has travels throughout the United States supporting community events, military ceremonies and parades. They have appeared at such notable events as the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, as the State Funeral for President Gerald Ford. Whether performing for the President of the United States, foreign dignitaries, local military commands and various communities throughout the United States, the First Marine Division Band represents the very best of Marine Corps music and is the “Pride of the Division”.

Tour de Terrace is Friday through Sunday, July 30-August 1.
