A gang member who killed a Seattle girl in Lake Ballinger at Mountlake Terrace faces at least 13 years in prison when he is sentenced Friday in Everett.

The 22-year-old Edmonds man, Robert C. Langendoerfer, admitted Monday in Snohomish County Superior Court he would be found guilty of manslaughter for the October 2008 killing of 17-year-old Britney Galindez.

The Everett Herald reports prosecutors made a plea deal because of problems with the case that could have resulted in an acquittal.

Witnesses says Langendoerfer stabbed the girl in the neck with a screwdriver and held her head underwater in the lake because he was angry that she threw up on him in a car after a night of drinking.
