The new Gene Juarez Academy, 6007-244th St. S.W. in the Gateway Plaza, is scheduled to open its doors to customers on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, according to Susie Burrows, Gene Juarez Salons Director of Design & Construction.
Gene Juaraz is converting approximately half of the 30,000 square-foot space that used to be a CompUSA store into a facility for students in their cosmetology training program, with the remaining space becoming their new corporate offices.
Work is progressing on the conversion as crews are preparing the building’s interior for classroom areas, 110 salon stations, a customer reception area and office space. While Jan. 14 is the opening date for the cosmetology training program, “we are trying to open our admin offices sooner,” said Burrows.
Once completed, the training facility will take the place of the company’s current location near Northgate. Gene Juarez is also expected to close its current corporate office in Bellevue once they are moved into the Gateway Plaza location.
