The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission has begun accepting entries into the 2014 Arts of the Terrace juried art show, scheduled for Sept. 27-Oct. 5. Entry fee is $15 per piece; deadline for entries is Aug. 30.

This is the 36th year for the annual juried art show in Mountlake Terrace. Works that will be accepted into the show include paintings, prints, drawings, calligraphy, photography, miniatures, three-dimensional pieces and artisans’ works. More than $4,000 in prize money will be available this year, including a prize of $500 for the Best of Show.

The judges for the 2014 Arts of the Terrace show will be Joe Mac Kechnie, Aaron Haba and Mark Hopkins. Mac Kechnie is a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society, Northwest Watercolor Society and the Puget Sound Group of NW Artists, and a member of the American Impressionist Society and the Oil Painters of America. Haba, a three-dimensional and artisan’s works artist, owns a studio on Camano Island, studied in France in 2011 and has recently had works shown in New York City and in shows throughout the Northwest. Hopkins, a 12-year Mountlake Terrace resident and member of the city’s Arts Advisory Commission, has a permanent showing of his fine art photography/digital art at the Woodhouse Wine Estates in Woodinville. His real estate and landscape images have been featured in magazines, posters and websites worldwide.
