Thousands enjoy Tour de Terrace parade Friday

The Tour de Terrace parade had a definite black and red tint in 2012, as students and representatives of Mountlake Terrace High School were intermixed throughout all the usual drill teams, classic cars, pirates and political figures that make up the event.
Thousands lining the parade route saw Hawk boys basketball coach Nalin Sood serve as the parade Grand Marshal, riding in a Mercedes Benz convertible and flanked by two of his assistant coaches. Appearances were also made by the Hawk cheer squad, members of the football team and the Key Club. In addition, MTHS engineer students showed off their competition robot in the parade.
Besides the MTHS entries, the parade featured such crowd favorites as the Seattle Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team, the Lake City Western Vigilantes and the Seafair Clowns and Pirates.
Tour de Terrace continues throughout the weekend with events running from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
