The Mountlake Terrace Hawks used a big first quarter to cruise to an easy win over Snohomish, 55-38, Friday night at the Mountlake Terrace Holiday Tournament. Terrace ran away from the Panthers, leading 17-4 after the first eight minutes.

Mountlake Terrace (7-2) was led by the 21 points of Loren Lacasse, with Blake Fernandez adding 13 points and Greg Bowman contributing 11. Snohomish (3-6) had only one player scoring in double figures, junior Josh Baird, who tallied 13 points.

The night featured the return of senior guard Marquis Armstead for the Hawks, who had missed the last two games due to team disciplinary actions. Armstead came in off the bench midway through the first quarter.

The Hawks’ next game is the nightcap of the tournament Saturday at 7 p.m. in a matchup with one of the top 2A teams in the state, Mark Morris.
