Terrace Hoops: Hawks top Arlington

Mountlake Terrace played Arlington high school on Saturday in a loser out game in the Wesco 4A District 1 playoffs.

Arlington came out strong with a early 9 points lead at the end of the first quarter, 21-12. The Hawks slowly chipped away at Arlington’s lead in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. By the beginning of the 4th quarter Arligton’s lead was down to 6, 49-43. A combination of many Arlington fouls and excellent free-throw shooting by the Hawks allowed Terrace to outscore Arlington 25-13 in the 4th quarter to win the game 68-62.

Jacob Champoux had a game-high 30 points for Mountlake Terrace, which included 4 three pointers.

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks play Jackson on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 PM at Jackson High School in another loser out playoff game. The Hawks still have a chance of getting the third seed to state.
