A high-speed chase in Lynnwood on Tuesday afternoon ended after the suspect crashed into two vehicles and attempted to flee on foot. However, witnesses were able to detain him briefly before officers caught up.
The chase headed northbound on Highway 99. A Lynnwood police officer successfully deployed spike strips at 168th Street Southwest, but the suspect kept driving with two flattened front tires. Though his speed had decreased, he later crashed into two vehicles at 148th Street Southwest, where he was eventually detained.
A woman in one of the two cars struck by the suspect’s vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect is a 20-year-old man with a criminal history, according to Lynnwood Police. He was driving a stolen vehicle and was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.
He was charged with attempting to elude a police officer and has been processed for a possible drug-related DUI.
