Summer construction projects are underway at a number of Mountlake Terrace and Brier schools.
Crews from Regency NW Construction of Bellevue have begun assembling equipment to begin work on a new playground shed at Terrace Park School in Mountlake Terrace. When finished, the 46-by-100 foot structure will provide cover for the 650 students of the school during recess and outdoor activities. The Terrace Park PTA raised more than $61,000 to help pay for the approximate $325,000 project.
Ewing Electric of Edmonds will be upgrading the lighting at three area schools this summer: Brier Elementary, Brier Terrace Middle School and Mountlake Terrace High School.
An upgrade of the sound system in the Mountlake Terrace High School Theater is being put out to bid this summer. The work “will likely be completed between September-December,” said Edmonds School District spokesperson DJ Jakala.
