Mountlake Terrace Hawk athletes picked up a third place, two fourth places and a sixth place at the WIAA 2A/3A/4A Track & Field State Championships in Tacoma on Friday. And the meet still has one more day to go, giving Terrace more opportunities for good finishes.
Bryan Wyss picked up a third place in the 3A boys wheelchair javelin throw on Friday with a toss of 16-08. Fourth place finishes were grabbed by Hawks McKenna Hunt in the girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15:54 and Beau Kennedy in the boys javelin with an effort of 174-04.
Freshman Chinne Okoronkwo placed sixth in the girls long jump with a leap of 17-3.

Duane Dahl qualified for the boys 300 meter hurdles final with the sixth best time in Friday’s qualifying heats. Other Hawks competing Saturday will be Gifton Okoronkwo and Tye Esparza in the boys triple jump and Jack Pierce in the boys 3200 meter.
Failing to qualifying for finals were Quinnell Mason in the boys 400 meter, Hunt in the girls 300 meter hurdles, and the boys 4×100 relay team.
