Fire District 1 logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 402 calls the week of Sept. 4-10: 319 emergency medical aid calls, 31 motor vehicle collisions, 22 fires, 13 service calls, 3 natural gas leaks and 14 automatic fire alarms.

Sept. 4

COLLISION:  At 3:16 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Admiralty Way and Airport Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 5

TRAILER FIRE:  At 12 a.m. firefighters extinguished a travel-trailer fire in the 13600 Highway 99 south of Everett. The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

COMMERCIAL FIRE:  At 9:43 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of smoke inside a yoga studio in the block of 120 5th Avenue S in Edmonds. A small fire was quickly extinguished and contained to a bathroom, but smoke traveled through the heating and ventilation system to neighboring businesses in the same commercial building. Damage is estimated at $10,000. No one was injured. Several businesses were closed for several hours while firefighters cleared smoke from the building. Fire investigators determined this was an accidental fire.

COLLISION:  At 1:08 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 15200 block of 22nd Place W in the Martha Lake area northeast of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION:  At 6:28 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 124th Street SW and 8th Avenue W in Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Sept. 6

BOAT FIRE:  At 10 p.m., firefighters extinguished a small fire in a boat sitting on a trailer outside a home in the 11200 block of 36th Drive SE south of Everett.

COLLISION:  At 10:28 p.m., a motorcyclist involved in a collision on the off-ramp from northbound I-5 to 164th Street SW was transported by firefighters to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Sept. 8

COLLISION:  At 3:07 p.m., a school bus and a car were involved in a collision in the 13220 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. No passengers were aboard the bus. All four occupants of the car were injured. The two most seriously injured occupants were transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.  Firefighters transported the remaining occupants and the bus driver to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Sept. 10

COLLISION:  At 10:00 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 236th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

BRUSH FIRE:  At 6:18 p.m. firefighters extinguished a brush fire at 164th Street SW and 44th Avenue W northwest of Lynnwood.
