The Seattle Times covers the 1st District

The Seattle Times has a good summary of the candidates for the two state representative positions in the 1 Legislative District. The 1st District includes Bothell, Maltby, Mountlake Terrace, Brier and parts of Lynnwood and Edmonds.

For the first time in recent memory, neither state representative in the 1st Legislative District is running for re-election.

Reps. Al O’Brien, D-Mountlake Terrace, and Mark Ericks, D-Bothell, have decided to call it quits, opening the path to eight candidates vying for the two House seats.

Ericks, a longtime law-enforcement officer first elected in 2005, has been nominated by President Obama to become U.S. marshal for Western Washington. O’Brien, who was first elected in 1996, plans to move with his wife to Wisconsin to be closer to her parents.
