The MTHS girls soccer team is the No. 3 seed in the District 1 Girls Soccer Tournament and will take on the No. 2 seed Marysville-Getchell Chargers on Saturday, Nov. 2, 5 p.m. at Marysville-Getchell High School in opening round play. With a win the Hawks would play the winner of the Shorecrest – Stanwood match on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 5:30 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium; if Terrace would lose on Saturday they would face the loser of the Shorecrest – Stanwood match at a site and time to be determined.
Shorecrest earned the No. 1 seed in the district soccer tourney by finishing the season with a record of 11-2 in league play, 13-2-1 overall. The Meadowdale Mavericks grabbed the No. 2 seed.
The schedule for the Hawk volleyball team is less complicated than the school’s soccer team, thanks in part to the volleyball squad earning the No. 1 seed in their tourney. Terrace will face the No. 8 seed Glacier Peak Grizzlies on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School. Win or lose, the volleyball team plays their second round game on Thursday, Nov. 7, again on their home court. A loss on Tuesday puts them in the loser out game on Thursday at 5 p.m.; a win on Tuesday sends them to a district semi-finals match-up to be played at 7 p.m.
The Hawks edged out Meadowdale for the tournament’s top seed; with their No. 2 seeding the Mavericks will also host early round matches on Tuesday and Thursday. The tournament championship and runner-up games will be contested at Glacier Peak High School on Saturday, Nov. 9.
