The mood was joyous Thursday afternoon as the Mountlake Terrace Community Senior Center @ Ballinger Park hosted a community open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the former Ballinger Clubhouse. Executive Director Mike Cooper noted in remarks prior to the ribbon cutting that volunteers put in more than 1,000 hours to remodel the kitchen, dining areas, office space and a meeting room at the seniors’ new home, located at 23000 Lakeview Dr.,

Cooper also thanked the Verdant Health Commission for their support, via a grant, to support the remodeling project.

The group is leasing the building from the City of Mountlake Terrace at $1,500 per month for five years.
