Registration is now open for two Baby Peppers groups, one meeting in Mountlake Terrace, for five- through 12-month old babies and their parents wanting to come together to share, learn and grow.
The Mountlake Terrace Baby Peppers group will meet on Mondays, starting Sept. 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Parent Trust Classroom in the Hall Creek Office Park, 6912-220th St. S.W. The Edmonds Baby Peppers group will meet on Wednesdays, starting Sept. 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. in Edmonds.
Cost for the 11-week sessions is $100 for families who live in South Snohomish County due to a grant from the Verdant Health Commission. Scholarships for the program are also available.
The weekly sessions include discussion of a specific parenting topic, sharing among parents and informal socializing.
The Baby Peppers groups are facilitated by the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS), a non-profit Seattle-based organization whose mission is to strengthen families through neighborhood-based parenting groups. PEPS also sponsors Pepsapalooza, a family music festival scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17, at Everett’s Memorial Stadium. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with music, games and activities; family admission is $39.
