The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion, which held its grand opening on Nov. 24, 1968, will be celebrating its 45th birthday throughout the month of November.
Visitors can come and enjoy the good old days with month-long discounts like 45 percent off Saturday open gym basketball, half-off indoor playground Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4 p.m., and select dancewear clearance priced at $4.50.
On Nov. 10, there will be a Zumba-thon, with the following classes:
Zumba – Music Around the World, 11 – 11:45 a.m.
Zumba Breakdown, noon – 12:45 p.m.
Zumba Kids, noon – 12:45 p.m.
Zumba, 1– 1:45 p.m.
Cost will be $4.50 per class.
Later in the month visitors can enjoy 45 cents off any espresso beverage (excluding happy hour) from Nov. 23 – 29. Also, on Nov. 26 and 27, swimmers can take advantage of half-off leisure/river swims all day.
“Since its opening 45 years ago, the Recreation Pavilion programs have grown to serve well over 400,000 participants per year”, said Recreation Manager Jeff Betz. Often referred to as the busiest recreation/swimming pool facility in the Pacific Northwest, the Recreation Pavilion continues to meet the recreational needs of the community, achieving state and national recognition for providing excellent recreation and aquatic programs, city officials said.
The Recreation Pavilion is located at 5303-228th St. S.W. in Mountlake Terrace.
