Prep sports results for Tuesday: Hawks beat Eagles in basketball

After outscoring their opponent 19-3 in the third quarter, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks cruised to an easy 60-42 victory over the visiting Arlington Eagles in a non-league boys basketball matchup Tuesday night at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Senior Derek Anyimah led the Hawks in scoring with 20 points; teammate Gabe Altenberger added 14 points. The Eagles were led by the 13 points of Drew Bryson and 12 points by Donovan Sellgren.

Terrace (4-2 overall) gets back into Wesco League play on Thursday when they host the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors in a key South Conference battle. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m.

In other MTHS action on Tuesday, the Hawk wrestling team split a double dual with Stanwood and Oak Harbor; Terrace defeated the Spartans 66-24 but fell to the Wildcats 48-21.
