Prep softball: Hawks stumble against Warriors


MTHSHawks logoThe Edmonds-Woodway Warriors won their eighth game in a row Monday with a 12-3 defeat of the Mountlake Terrace Hawks in Wesco 3A South softball action at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

With the win, the Warriors locked up second place in the league and a top-four seed in the District 1 3A Softball Tournament that begins on Tuesday, May 19. Mountlake Terrace is tied with the Glacier Peak Grizzlies for the tourney’s final berth from the South with one game remaining in the regular season.

In Monday’s matchup, E-W broke open a close game with the Hawks by scoring nine runs in the fifth inning. Kendra Cooper led the Warrior attack by going 2-for-4 with four RBIs; teammate added three RBIs by going 3-for-4 at the plate.
