In its continuing effort to face elite competition this season, members of the Mountlake Terrace cross country team raced against some of the top prep teams on the west coast – and came away with some impressive finishes – at the Stanford Invite on Saturday.
The girls team finished 29th out of 171 squads that scored on the 5,000-meter course that winded through the Stanford Golf Course on the campus of Stanford University.
Senior Ella Schroth led the Hawk girls squad with a 146th finish among the field of 1,225 runners that ran in five divisions. Junior Braeden Sims was the first of the four boys that competed, finishing 267th among 1,350 runners.
