Police activity, K-9 search after car theft suspect flees on foot in MLT

Several police vehicles and an Edmonds K-9 unit were active in the area of 50th Avenue West and 212th Street Southwest on Tuesday afternoon while officers searched for a man suspected of a car theft.

A K-9 track was unsuccessful after the suspect fled from the vehicle, stolen in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace Assistant Police Chief Pete Caw said.

He was not located, but he is known by authorities. He is described as a man in his early 20s wearing a dark shirt and plaid shorts.

The stolen vehicle was recovered by officers in the area of 50th Avenue West and 212th Street Southwest. An investigation is ongoing.
