The Concern For Neighbors Food Bank was the beneficiary of a food drive conducted by The Pirates of Treasure Island at the Ballinger Way Thriftway on Saturday. The pirates collected 462 pounds of food and $315 in cash for the Mountlake Terrace food bank.
“Your work helps feed the needy in south Snohomish County,” the food bank’s Vice President Bob Jenista told the pirates. “Thank you for including the Concern For Neighbors Food Bank in your charitable works.”
The Pirates of Treasure Island is a volunteer group of “swashbuckling scallywags and sassy wenches” that entertain, encourage and assist in charity work throughout Western Washington. Their “ship” is converted 1978 Dodge van.
The Concern For Neighbors Food Bank is open for all eligible individuals and families Tuesday mornings 9:30 to 11:30, and Tuesday evenings 5 to 6 by appointment only.
