Repaving and construction work on I-5 through Mountlake Terrace – and its adjoining ramps and overpasses – continues following the Labor Day weekend, with overnight closures of various ramps and overpass lanes scheduled through the week.
Crews will begin their focus on the 236th Street Southwest overpass, reducing it to one lane of travel from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.; flaggers will alternate traffic between 58th Avenue West and 65th Place West. The off-ramp from northbound I-5 to 236th Street SW will be closed during portions of the overnight work.
Once work on 236th Street is completed crews will move to the 220th Street Southwest and close the westbound lanes of the overpass during the 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. hours; flaggers will alternate traffic. Both the off-ramp from southbound I-5 to 220th Street Southwest and the on-ramp to the freeway from 220th Street Southwest are scheduled to be closed while crews are working on the overpass.
The work is part of the $5.356 million project to repave I-5 from 52nd Avenue West to the King-Snohomish County line, and to provide repairs and upgrades to freeway ramps and overpasses in the project work zone. All work is expected to be completed this fall.
