The commercial space formerly occupied by Blockbuster Video at the Albertson’s shopping center, 21005-44th Ave. W., will be taken over by O’Reilly Auto Parts. The new lessee has filed permits with the city to remodel the corner unit of the strip mall; work is expected to begin later this year.
Blockbuster Video vacated the space in April as part of the company’s massive downsizing worldwide.
A spokesperson for O’Reilly’s said it is too soon to know when retail operations will begin at the site, but expects it to happen sometime between October of this year and March 2014.
O’Reilly’s Auto Parts has more than 4,000 retail stores nationwide; its corporate offices are located in Springfield, Missouri.
