Okoronkwo siblings earn state 3A wins in boys, girls triple jump

The brother-sister track duo of Gifton and Chinne Okoronkwo each brought home first-place medals for Mountlake Terrace High School after winning state 3A titles in the triple jump.

Gifton earned his first-place victory with a jump of 46-7.25, while Chinne’s winning jump was 39-0.50. Chinne also finished second at state in the pole vault with a mark of of 12-0, and sixth in the long jump.

Overall, the MTHS boys took 14th place in the state 3A meet while the girls track team earned 7th.
