The mystery of what would fill four small empty squares along a new walking path in Brier Park was answered earlier this month when exercise stations were installed in the squares.
“The equipment is the final phase of a Healthy Communities effort the City of Brier and the Verdant Health Commission teamed up to install over the last two years,” said Brier City Planner Nicole Gaudette.
Verdant, the managing agency of community tax funds collected by Snohomish County Public Hospital District No. 2, granted Brier $90,345 in 2014 to create a walking course with exercise/stretching stations in Brier Park.
The four stations were designed by Landscape Structures of Delano, Minn., and include instruction signs on how to best utilize the equipment.
The walking path and exercise/stretching stations, as with all public park facilities in the City of Brier, are open for use from dawn to dusk daily.
