MTHS technology students finish strong at regional competition

Members of the Mountlake Terrace High School Technology Student Association (TSA) put in a strong performance at the Western Washington Regional Competition held Feb. 8 at Jackson High School in Mill Creek. MTHS students swept the Structural Engineering category and placed in every event in which they entered at the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related competition.

Following their efforts at the regional event, MTHS TSA students are now preparing for the state conference to be held March 27-29 in Bellevue.

Structural Engineering:
1st Place – Haeley Johnston and Joey Owens
2nd Place – Connor Ebright and Jonathan Thiem
3rd Place – Kristian Suzara and Aaron Quach
Career Preparation:
1st Place – Haeley Johnston
3rd Place – AsiaLee Connelly
Technology Problem Solving:
2nd Place – AsiaLee Donnelly and Paxtyn Merten
3rd Place – Caleb Sill and Tiana Pennington-Obispo
Extemporaneous Speech:
2nd Place – Paxtyn Marten
