MTHS musical debuts this weekend

The Mountlake Terrace drama department is preforming “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” beginning this Friday, March 5th.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is Tony Award-winning musical by Rachel Sheinkin and William Finn. From Wikipedia, “The show centers around a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally-quirky grown-ups.”

Tickets go on sale at 6:45 each night at the doors open at 7 pm. Tickets price is only $8. Audience members will be selectged to participate as spelling bee contestants. Applications to participate as a speller must be completed by 7:15. All ages are welcome but the show is rated PG-13 for moderate language.

Show dates are March 5, 6, 11, 12 & 13 at 7:30 pm.
