Mountlake Terrace High School is hosting a big multi-event fundraiser this Saturday, May 3, where you can shop, eat, learn how to improve your health, get your car washed, and support a number of great organizations.
The community event is slated for 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and will benefit the MTHS Sports Boosters, the MTHS Football Boosters, the MTHS PTSA, each of the current MTHS classes (2014-2017) and the Puget Sound Blood Center.
Here’s a listing of what’s happening:
• A spring bazaar, with vendors from independent business, crafters, non-profits and the four MTHS classes
• A rummage sale (donations being accepted Friday, May 2, from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m., and Saturday morning, May 3, beginning at 7:30 a.m.)
• A sport, health and wellness fair, with vendors from wellness clinics, dental offices, acupuncturists, chiropractors, personal trainers, licensed massage practitioners and more
• A car wash
• A barbecue
Also scheduled during the community event will be a “Drive 4 Ur School” fundraiser, where Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the MTHS Sports Booster Club for every test drive of a new Ford vehicle on Saturday. Drivers must be 18-years-old to qualify for the donation; the goal is for 300 test drives, resulting in a $6,000 donation to the booster club.
Also on Saturday, Team Kellie will be conducting a blood drive to benefit the Puget Sound Blood Center. Team Kellie is the group formed to honor Kellie Watson, 1984 MTHS graduate and community supporter, who lost her battle with uterine cancer on March 27. To make an appointment to donate to the blood drive, contact Melissa Reid at firstname.lastname@example.org.
