The Mountlake Terrace High School Drama Department received two honorable mentions for their production last January of “Sympathy Jones: The New Secret Agent” musical from the 5th Avenue Awards, an education outreach awards program of the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle. The awards honor outstanding achievement in high school musical theater in Washington State.

MTHS received honorable mentions in two categories – for Outstanding Costume Design, and Outstanding Hair and Makeup Design.

Evaluators attended high school musical productions throughout the state this school year to determine nominees in 23 award categories. The nominations were announced this week; winners will be announced at the 5th Avenue Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 9, at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.

Other drama departments in the Edmonds School District that were recognized with nominations or honorable mentions were from Edmonds Heights K-12 and Lynnwood High School. You can view the entire list of nominees and those receiving an honorable mention here.
