Parents are encouraged to return registration forms soon as the first sessions will be offered on Oct. 7.
Move 60! gets students in grades second through sixth exercising 60 minutes a day, four days a week either before or after school. The program is intended to increase opportunities for student activity and exercise outside of the typical school day. The intention is to fight childhood obesity, improve student health issues, offer an opportunity to play sports, and to provide the physical, social, and emotional benefits of extra exercise to students.
This is the third year of the program and is funded by a grant from the Verdant Health Commission.
There are three sessions offered through the school year with 50 students in each session. The first session begins on Monday, Oct. 7.
