The Herald reports that on May 9, Mountlake Terrace police used a stun gun on a man attempting to commit suicide by stabbing himself. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner determined the man died as a result of self-inflicted stab wounds. His death was ruled a suicide. The day after the incident, Mountlake Terrace Police called the Snohomish County Multi Agency Response Team (SMART) and asked them to investigate. SMART recently cleared the Mountlake Terrace police of any wrongdoing.

Everett police officer Robert Goetz said that “officers responded and were actually trying to save this person’s life.”
