Mountlake Terrace police blotter: May 6-11

A theft was reported in the 21700 block of 56th Avenue West. A space heater was stolen from a driveway. A homeowner got into a verbal argument with the suspect. The suspect thought the space heater was free, as the home regularly has free items sitting in front of it.

May 7
A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 6400 block of 234th Place Southwest.

May 8
A burglary was reported in the 23500 block of 59th Avenue West. The current resident of a home there said he thinks a man who used to live in a shed in the back yard did it. The suspect was recently evicted. A safe containing three handguns was stolen. A cell phone battery was left behind by the suspect.

A theft was reported in the 22000 block of 48th Avenue West. A purse was stolen from the kitchen of a building there during a social event. The next day, the reporting party called the Mountlake Terrace Police Department to tell them the purse was found inside the toilet in the men’s bathroom. The only thing missing from the purse was a phone.

A domestic verbal dispute was reported in the 4700 block of 236th Street Southwest.

May 9
A Mountlake Terrace Public Works employee found 18 record albums alongside the Interurban Trail near the 7000 block of 220th Street Southwest. They were brought to the Mountlake Terrace Police Department.

A theft was reported in the 4500 block of 227th Street Southwest. A wallet and set of car keys were stolen from a gym locker. Later that night, the victim called police again because his car alarm was going off. When he checked outside, he saw another vehicle outside. The car drove off. An officer recommended he remove valuables from his car and possibly have a neighbor block in the car. No additional loss was reported.

A theft was reported in the 21300 block of 48th Avenue West. A box of tools was taken out of the bed of a truck.

A rear license plate was stolen in the 5500 block of 220th Street Southwest.

May 10
A shoplifter was reported in the 22800 block of 44th Avenue West. Two video games were reportedly stolen.

A rear license plate was stolen off of a vehicle.

A domestic verbal dispute was reported in the 6000 block of 244th Street Southwest.

May 11
A stolen vehicle was reported in the 22800 block of 44th Avenue West. A man said he was borrowing his daughter’s truck and was visiting with two friends. One of the friends asked if she could have the keys to retrieve some items from the truck. The reporting party said she could and gave her the keys. She never returned. A half hour later, the man noticed the truck was gone.
