MLT police shieldThe following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.

June 27

21200 block of 52nd Ave. W. Theft. A store clerk reported that a man entered the store, asked him for two packs of cigarettes and then stole the cigarettes after they were placed on the counter. A witness reported that the man ran out of the store and got into a nearby car. The loss was $16.86.

June 30

22000 block of 52nd Ave. W. Burglary. An alarm went off at about 8:15 p.m. at an elementary school. Boards covering a broken window were found lying inside the building and some cabinet and storage type cupboard doors were open. A witness saw two males running away from the building. No damage reported.

21700 block of 56th Ave. W. Malicious mischief. A resident reported that someone shot her window with a bb gun.

4100 block of 236th St. SW. Theft. A man reported that his rear license plate was stolen.

July 1

4800 block of 219t St. SW. Burglary. A woman reported that an xBox, video games and a black bowling bag were stolen.

4800 block of 236th St. SW. Burglary. A man reported a laptop was stolen. A piggy bank was smashed and clothes also were strewn throughout the man’s bedroom. The man left his bathroom window slightly open and found it fully open later. A chair was propped up against the house below the window.

21800 block of 66th Ave. W. Burglary. Sometime between June 26-29, unknown person or persons broke into a storage unit and stole a large number of clothes, TVs and DVDs. The victim said there were two combination locks on the unit but they were missing. The victim suspected an acquaintance of his may have committed the crime. The suspect helped him move some stuff into the unit and remarked at the amount of goods in the storage unit. The victim did not have an address for the suspect.

July 2

6000 block of 244th St. SW. Lost property. A woman reported that at about 8 p.m. she used a public restroom at a movie theater to change clothes. In her pants’ pocket she had $1,196 in rent money. She set the money down and got dressed. She then left the bathroom without the money. She and a friend went to watch a movie and an hour later she realized that she forgot to pick up her money. She went back to the restroom but the money was gone. She reported the incident to police in case someone turns in the money.

22900 block of 72nd Pl. W. Vehicle theft. A man reported that a 1995 flatbed truck was stolen overnight from his driveway. The key possibly was inside.
