MLT police shieldThe following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.

Oct. 2

23100 block of 52nd Ave. W. Theft. A bicycle was stolen, even though the owner had secured the bike. Bolt cutters likely were used by the thief.

Oct. 3

22700 Lakeview Dr. Theft. A mountain-style bike was stolen. It was left unsecured near the front door at an apartment.

21800 block of 44th Ave. Found property. A woman found an iPhone 5 on the Mountlake Terrace High School track and turned it into police.

21800 block of 66th Ave. W. Burglary. An accordion and cello were stolen from a storage unit.

Oct. 5

6300 block of St. Albion Way. Vehicle theft. A man reported the theft of a 2002 truck from an apartment complex parking lot.

Oct. 6

21700 block of 56th Ave. W. Malicious mischief. Someone was driving through the area shooting paintballs at houses. Two houses were hit with a yellow paintball.

Oct. 7

21800 block of 44th Ave. W. Found property. A bicycle was left by a student two years ago in the backroom at a school and never retrieved. School staff had no idea of who the owner was.

23400 block of 53rd Ave. W. Vehicle theft. A resident reported the theft of car from his driveway.

23300 block of 58th Ave. W. Found property. A bicycle left in front of the library for five days was reported to police, who took possession of the bike.

23300 block of 58th Ave. W. Found property. A resident found a bicycle at Veterans Park.

6000 block of 236th Ave. W. Found property. An empty briefcase type bag was found at a bus stop.

6500 block of 232nd St. SW. Malicious mischief. The front windshield of a car was broken, possibly by a bb gun.

21800 block of 58th Ave. W. Theft. A man reported the theft of a tool box and a lawnmower from his backyard. The items were left unsecured.

Oct. 8

7000 block of 220th St. SW. near Interurban Trail. Assault. A man told police he was walking when he felt fists hit him in the head and he was kicked in the face and head. The victim suspects there were two individuals involved in the attack. He did not see who hit him. The man was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion.

5800 block of 242nd St. SW. Vehicle theft. A resident reported the theft of a 1998 car.

Oct. 9

22000 block of Highway 99. Warrant service. Police stopped an individual riding a bicycle without reflectors and a headlight, which are required during the hours of darkness. The man also was not wearing a helmet. A check revealed the man was wanted with a felony warrant for trafficking in stolen property. Police placed the man under arrest.

21700 block of 51st Ave. W. Humane. Police received a tip that a resident owned a rattlesnake, which is not allowed in the City. The resident told police a roommate may have had one. Later the resident called back and said the rattlesnake was released in Eastern Washington two years ago.

6000 block of 244th St. SW. Vehicle recovery. Police recovered a stolen vehicle out of Shoreline.
