Mountlake Terrace Library to host events on monsters and clutter

Monika Kristofferson

The Mountlake Terrace Library has two special events scheduled later this week — one for teens who aren’t afraid of monsters, and one for adults who are afraid of clutter.

October is Celebrate Teen Read Month, and on Friday, Oct. 26, teens are invited to a craft opportunity and book talk with local artist Prema Jones and Teen Services Librarian Dawn Rutherford. Jones will be leading a time of creating adorable monsters out of felt, faux fur and feathers. Rutherford will share her all-time favorite monster books. All supplies for this free event are provided, and is open to all 12-18 year olds (or youth in 6th-12th grades).

On Saturday, Oct. 27, professional organizer Monika Kristofferson of Efficient Organization NW will lead a class titled “Declutter Your Home and Decrease Stress.” Kristofferson will teach how to create goals for your space, tackle excess belongings, choose storage solutions, and more. The class begins at 11:00 a.m, pre-registration is required by calling 425-776-8722 or at online.

Both events are sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Library. The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300-58th Ave. W.
