Mountlake Terrace "Friends of the Market" looking for Volunteers

The Mountlake Terrace Business Association held a meeting for those interested in participating in a Friends of the Market volunteer group. The “Friends of the Market” will be a group of citizen’s interested in helping make the Mountlake Terrace Farmer’s Market prosper. More volunteers are needed for many different opportunities including staffing the information table; sending out emails; setting up the cones, signs and barricades; breaking down the market equipment and returning things to storage; website design and maintenance; and greeters who can also use a counter to track attendance.

The group will be a non-profit organization so students can get community service hours for school if interested. The MLTBA is hoping the market can eventually be led by the Mountlake Terrace community members themselves since many of the business owners do not live in the city. If you are interested in providing any volunteer hours, even on an occasional basis, please contact Virginia Olsen, Community Relations Director, at (425) 744-6206 or email VOlsen@ci.mlt.wa.us.
