MLT streets scheduled for sealcoat, chipseal work starting this week
A number of city streets near the Town Center area of Mountlake Terrace are set to receive a sealcoat and chipseal starting on Wednesday, Aug. 8. The City of Mountlake Terrace is warning residents and local commuters that temporary parking restrictions, single lane closures and minor traffic delays may result from the street work.
Streets affected by the project are as follows:
52nd Avenue West (from 230th to 236th Streets SW)
53rd Avenue West (from 228th to 236th Streets SW)
54th Avenue West (from 228th to 234th Streets SW)
55th Avenue West (from 228th to 236th Streets SW)
228th Street SW (from 53rd to 56th Avenues West)
230th Street SW (from 52nd to 56th Avenues West)
232nd Street SW (from 52nd to 56th Avenues West)
234th Street SW (from 52nd to 58th Avenues West)
Nearby residents and businesses should be receiving information from the city’s Public Works Department concerning the upcoming street work via door hangers as early as Monday, Aug. 6. The contractor, Doolittle Construction, will be placing no parking signs on affected streets 48 hours prior to the start of work.
In total, 2.7 miles of streets will be coated and sealed as a result of this project.
