MLT Police Chase ends with accident in North Seattle

The Seattle Times, our news partner, reports that Mountlake Terrace police went on a roughly 10-mile police chase that ended early Sunday morning on NE 75th St. in Seattle:

A man crashed his vehicle early Sunday in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood after leading Mountlake Terrace police on a roughly 10-mile chase.

The man was seriously injured.

Around 12:30 a.m., the man exited Interstate 5 south onto Banner Way Northeast and failed to make the curve where Banner Way turns into Northeast 75th Street, according to Seattle police. The vehicle turned broadside, left the road and hit a guardrail on the south side of Northeast 75th Street.

The impact caused the vehicle to go up on its front end, police said. It continued along the guardrail before striking a light pole and flipping onto its roof. It came to rest in the 600 block of Northeast 75th Street.

The driver, whose name police did not release, was pulled from the wreckage and taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Seattle police did not say what led to the pursuit.
