Mountlake Terrace and Brier police were two of four law enforcement agencies involved in a police pursuit and apprehension of three shoplifting suspects Friday afternoon in Lynnwood and unincorporated Snohomish County.
At 12:06 p.m., Lynnwood Police responded to a reported shoplift at the Alderwood Mall. Two female suspects were seen getting into a vehicle that was observed by officers as it left the mall area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a short pursuit ensued.
The suspect vehicle became disabled near the 21100 block of 28th Avenue West just north of Brier and a male suspect driver bailed on foot from the vehicle. Lynnwood Police K9 apprehended the driver while the two female suspects remained in the vehicle and were also taken into custody.
In addition to the Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Brier Police Departments, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office was also involved in Friday’s incident.
Hazelwood Elementary School, located near the location of the arrests, was briefly placed into lockdown as a standard precautionary measure, Lynnwood Police Department Sgt. Sean Doty said.
