“Community Planning: What Is It and How Does It Work?” will be presented at a public meeting of the Mountlake Terrace Planning Commission on Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of Interim City Hall, 6100-219th St. S.W., Suite 200.
The slide show will feature a short history and current examples of city planning; it is being shown in conjunction with October being proclaimed National Community Planning Month.
Information in the presentation is geared toward people who are not familiar with city planning or who might be interested in volunteering for or learning about the Planning Commission. No registration is required and the event is open to the public.
The city’s Planning Commission is made up of local residents appointed by the City Council to make community planning recommendations. The Commission meets twice monthly and operates as a volunteer body.
