The Mountlake Terrace Off-Leash Dog Park received a fresh layer of wood chips Sunday morning as a few members of MLT DOG put in some volunteer hours at the park facility.

The three-quarters-of-an-acre dog park, located at 5303-228th St. S.W. just northeast of the Recreation Pavilion, is owned and operated by the City of Mountlake Terrace with support from the Mountlake Terrace Dog Off-Leash Group (MLT DOG). Volunteers from the group occasionally spearhead work efforts at the park to spread wood chips, clear brush, make minor repairs and other various projects.

Sunday’s work was primarily to spread piles of wood chips donated by Arbor Barber Tree Service of Lynnwood; the business has been a supporter of the dog park since its inception in March 2009. Volunteers also repaired steps at the west gate entrance of the park.
